6/20/2016 0 Comments The Monthly blendDo you ever feel like you are pulled in five different directions? That is how I feel today! A little overwhelmed, a little spacey. Like I have waaaay to many things on my todo list. With a toddler wanting all of my attention, my husband needing help with projects on his day off, my business needing attention, the housework needing to be done, it feels never ending. Do you ever have days like that?
They aren't fun! Thank goodness I have natural wellness tools to help me cope! Today's blend of choice, the Monthly Blend- it helps a lot more in my everyday life then it sounds like it would! This blend helps women specifically by supporting healthy {pregnancy} hormone levels (hello 15 weeks pregnant!), releasing negeative emotions around rejection and relationships, and incourages more emotional intimacy and maternal, nurturing bonds. (My 2 year old appreciates this 😉) It even helps even out moods! (My husband will be eternally thankful for this aspect!) It is a good one to keep handy today, when everyone is home and there are more things then usual to keep track of!

You did it! You got the oils! Now what?
First off, congratulations! I am excited that you took this step in your wellness journey! If you would like some support, head over to my Facebook group Our Wellness Journey for support in your physical, emotional, and financial wellness! Moving on to Essential Oil Basics!Aren't those little brown bottles beautiful! I love them, even more I love what they represent- a way to become empowered in your wellness! In a world where things are expensive, complicated, busy, and noisy, it is nice to have a simple alternative that also saves you money! "Saves me money? How?" You ask. "Those little brown bottles were kind of expensive! I think I will save them until we REALLY need them!" "No wait! Don't do that! You need them now!" I cry! "Let me explain how they will save you money before you stash them away for a rainy day!" Its true, essential oils can be pricy (but I do advocate that everyone sets up a wholesale account to maximize savings and get the best deals on essential oils! Send me a request for more information about that by following this link!) Back to save the money though... Step one- open the bottles! (I know they are all neat, and sealed, and lovely, but what is inside is what you really want.) Step two- Breathe Step three- feel better Essential oils are highly concentrated compounds that our bodies and minds can use to promote a lifestyle of wellness on the cellular level. Because essential oils are natural compounds our bodies recognize them and know how to utalize their potential. Different Essential oils help different body systems do what they want to do naturally- be balanced and well. It is just a matter of picking the right oil or blend for what you want to assist. Many people are finding that they are able to deal with many of life's little emergencies without taking off work to make an expensive trip to the Dr, saving them the precious commodities of money and time! (As our national healthcare system sees more and more patients with fewer and fewer doctors this will save you EVEN MORE time & money!) In the same way our bodies know how to respond to these oils, so do does out emotional wellness. Our limbic system is directly effected by the aromatic properties of these wonderful gifts of the earth. Three ways to use essential oils:

Topical useage
This is a powerful way to use essential oils! One drop of essential oil is enough to aid every cell in your body! So remember, less is more! Your 15ml bottles have 250 drops in them, so you have 250 doses(!!!) of wonderful natural wellness at your fingertips! Use it well!
You may want to dilute your essential oils in case of skin sensitivity. This also helps you cover a larger area with a smaller amount of essential oils. Virgin or fractionated coconut oil are two of my favorite carriers!
Mixing and creating your own pre-diluted rollerballs makes for easy application, especially for children!

Internal useage
If you do choose to take oils internally, make sure you are using very high quality essential oils! Click here to get more information about my favorite oils. Not all oils are grown, distilled, and bottled equally! Make sure that there is an FDA supplement fact panel (just like on the side of any other packaged supplement you purchase) on the bottle. This ensures that the company responsible for the oils intended for you to consume it in small doses and made sure that it was grown, harvested, distilled and bottled in a way that did not add anything harmful to the oil.
Remember how powerful I mentioned oils are in the topical section? Remember that here too!! One drop is PLENTY!
Using oils internally is a wonderful way to support your digestive system, oral and throat health.
You can add a drop to a glass of water (no plastics! Many essential oils are petrochemicals, meaning they break down plastic)
Place a drop the tongue or put in an empty gel cap.
Just remember less is more and to be cautious of what oils you decide to use internally as not all essential oils are intended for internal use.
Here are some great resources to help you decide for yourself what oils to include in your internal oil regime.

Peppermint oil- for a Boyant Heart
I love peppermint oil. I think it truely is one of my favorites. Peppermint fills me with joy and clarity.
Peppermint is cooling, perfect to for hot summer days! (I put 5-10 drops in a 2oz glass spray bottle and us it as a cooling body spritz on these hot California summer days!)
While peppermint is an fun, delicious, uplifting oil, it can also inhibit deeper introspection, so proceed with caution! It is helpful for a respite, a breather from life's troubles. But be cautious of using it to escape dealing with deeper issues.
Pair peppermint and lavender together for an excellent duo for dealing with emotional difficulties while being emotionally honest, with yourself and others.
Peppermint helps with mental alertness and focus, so if you need to get a task done quickly, peppermint is the oil for you!
Gargling with one drop of peppermint oil and water can help inhibited bad breath!
In adults and older children, peppermint also helps provide healthy respiratory support, particularly during times when high environmental threats occur.

lemon
Perhaps one of the most well know & well loved scents, lemon evokes feeling of clarity, focus, connection, and joy,
Lemon oil is also a natural cleansing agent. And with the aromatherapy benefits, you might even be happy about that house work! Add 10-15 drops to a glass spray bottle filled with water, shake, spray and wipe! Instant, cheap, effective degreaser, furniture polish, and mood lifter!
Lemon oil is a favorite in our house, it frequently finds its way into the diffuser to help with a more playful afternoon, or to bolster spirits when there is a difficult task at hand.
If you use lemon oil topically, be cautious of sun exposure for 12 hours, as liked most citrus oils, it can cause photosensitivity.

Lavender- the oil of communication
Lavender oil may increase verbal communication, as it helps calm insecurities that may arise from a variety of things including disconnectedness, speech issues, fear of rejection, feeling constricted or inhibited. Lavender encourages emotional honesty and openness that may be difficult to express.
Lavender oil may be just the oil to diffuse or use topically before going into a stressful meeting or talking with your teenager for the umpteenth time about cleaning their room. Help yourself put the tool of communication to good use, more effectively by partnering it with a wonderful gift of the earth, lavender oil.
Physcically lavender oil helps calm and soothe irritated skin from things like bees things and minor sunburns. It also helps maintain healthy blood pressure, even during those stressful times in life.
Lavender is a favorite oil among people who struggle with head tension, as it soothes away both muscle and emotional tensions.
With th so many uses it is no wonder why many people call this their 'Deseted Island Oil'! I know it is used most days in our family.

This blend is yummy, soothing and powerful. Calming, as the name states, yet it goes deep and speaks to the soul. It may soothe emotions like rage, hostility, fear, agitation. and open you to receive love, support, relaxation. It opens the way for grace and forgiveness, of others and self.
You can mix this into the delightful Lux FACE Cream, or stay tuned for my next diy adventure, hard perfume sticks!
For a simple relaxing measure add 2-4 drops to a warm bath, place a drop on a warm compress, or apply to pulse points and breathe. Just breathe. Trust the oil to do its work well.
